KIDSEN is an innovative, stylish Scandinavian independent children’s store located in Kensal Rise, West London. We opened almost two years ago and last year we also launched our successful on-line business.
We stock both clothing and nursery gear, ranging from BRIO prams to Lille Barn, Mini Rodini and other well known Scandinavian brands. Being really passionate about what we do, Kidsen is all about making sure we find the right product for the right person – whether this is a present for a child or making that all important decision on what pram to buy for a new baby.
We’re looking for a really lovely outgoing and experienced Store Manager to join us who can take charge of the day to day running of the shop as well as internet based orders.
Responsibilities include:
• Providing all round excellent customer service and advice on all goods in store
• Helping to manage the store display, making sure the goods look fresh and neat both on shelves and in window display
• Dealing with all customer enquiries
• Taking order in store, by phone and on-line
• Keeping track of and maintaining stock and take appropriate action to re-stock or amend website
• Light maintenance of website
• Cash management
We’re looking for:
• Good, solid experience in a retail environment
• Background knowledge of Scandinavian design, ideally nursery gear and clothing
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people at all levels
• Initiative – ability to think on your feet and come up with creative solutions when needed
• Superb problem solving skills
• Good solid knowledge of computers: you will be updating the site and processing orders via the web, so you need to know your way around the basics and not be scared of technology.
• Outgoing – we want someone who can really interact with customers
• Sales experience – you need to understand how to sell stuff
• Fluent in English both written and spoken - this is crucial
• Knowledge of a Scandinavian language is a lovely bonus, but not essential – but what is essential is the enthusiasm and interest for what we do and products we stock.
• Honest, trustworthy person who gets on with kids and adults alike
The job is full time (Tuesday to Saturday) from 9:30-18:00 every day. Some days you will be managing the shop on your own, some days there will be a helper there when it is busy.
Salary is dependent on experience.
We are really keen to find the right person who will stay with Kidsen for a while and who is prepared to grow with the company as we expand – and if this means waiting for you to serve notice somewhere else, then this is of course fine. Interviews will be held in the store over the next week.
References are required and will be requested and followed up before any potential job offer.
